Top 10 Beaches around the World

Almira Armstrong

10. Rabbit Beach
Where: Lampedusa Sicily (Italy)
This remote beach is an unspoiled nature reserve that can only be accessed by boat, and is one of the few places in the Mediterranean where loggerhead sea turtles go to lay their eggs. It has often been voted the most beautiful in the world.

9. 7 Mile Beach
Where: Negril, Jamaica
Two hours from Montego Bay, we love this North African white sand beach with turquoise water as far as the eye can see. The snorkeling here is out of this world.

8. Anse Source d’Argent
Where: La Digue, (Republic of Seychelles)
Located in the North of La Digue, this beach is a great bike ride from the main jetty. Here you’ll find a long stretch of perfect talcum-powder sand with huge granite boulders tumbling into the sea, lined with swaying palm trees.

7. Kauna'oa Bay
Where: Kohala Coast (Hawaii)
One of the rare white sand beaches located on the island of Hawaii, Kauna'oa Bay bears the stellar reputation of often being named ‘America’s Best Beach’. Boasting calm waters, well-maintained public facilities and a diverse marine life perfect for snorkelling, Kauna’oa Bay is truly one of our favourites.

6. Reethi Beach
Where: Baa Atoll (Maldives)
It’s hard to select just one of these postcard-perfect Maldives Beaches, although this one is, just, our pick. This four-star, luxury island resort is just a 35-minute seaplane away from the coast of Male. It’s the ultimate destination for secluded relaxation over a surreal crystal blue lagoon.

5. El Castillo Beach
Where: Tulum (Mexico)
One of the best-preserved coastal Maya sites, Tulum has become one of the most popular tourist destinations within Mexico. A small rustic getaway where style and luxury coexist with carefree comfort, Castillo Beach is paradise for those simplest pleasures that never go out of fashion.

4. Bai Sao Beach
Where: Phu Quoc (Vietnam)
This beach is a hidden gem on Phu Quoc Island’s East coast, waiting to be discovered by quiet souls seeking an intimate and exclusive getaway. We almost didn’t want to share this one, as it’s one of the best Asian beaches you’ve never heard of!

3. Matira Beach
Where: Bora Bora (Tahiti)
This Tahitian white sand beach formed from the remnants of a long-extinct volcano, slopes gently into a sandy-bottomed lagoon where the water is warm and shallow. Framed from behind by lush palms and green hills, it’s world-renowned for its fiery, gorgeous sunsets.

2. Elafonisi Beach
Where: Crete (Greece)
Despite its location on one of Greece’s largest islands, Elafonisi still somehow manages to stay delightfully remote. The beach, which is also a protected nature reserve, is known the world over for its dreamy pink sand and crystal clear water.

1. Bondi Beach
Where: Sydney (Australia)
Bondi, an Aboriginal word meaning water breaking over rocks, is one of Australia’s best beaches and can also be found in Lumira’s hometown, Sydney. The beach, which is lined with popular cafes, restaurants and hotels, is as much is a destination where sun, sand and sea are in perfect harmony, as it is a lifestyle for locals and travellers alike.
