'MY NOSE REMEMBERS MORE THAN MY EYES', PHYLLIS THEROUX
Whether for ceremony, for discerning societal class, or for pure pleasure, the extensive history of perfume, dating back to Ancient Egypt, perfectly captures the power and hedonism of wearable fragrance.
But, what is it about perfume and scent that drives us so crazy? Is it sentimental, sensual or just plain science? As innovation continues well into the 21st century, scent configuration becomes more complex and attuned to our senses. What does this mean for us? Perfumers can create fragrances that change and develop on our skin, making the scent experience just that little bit more bespoke!
It is this sheer obsession with beautiful, heady fragrance that will see Lumira launch three Perfume Oils - Arabian Oud, Cuban Tobacco and Persian Rose - in mid-October this year. Designed by Lumira Founder and Creative Director, Almira Armstrong, the perfume oils will be an extension of the much sought after Destinations Collection:
“Creating the Lumira Perfume Oils was always part of the way I wanted Lumira to grow as a brand. As travel is already such a significant inspiration for the brand, the concept for these new perfume oils is that each is tied to a specific time and place - somewhere that has struck me for its unique scents. Perhaps selfishly, I wanted to be able to have the memories of those places with me all the time."
From mid-October, the three Perfume Oils will be available online and through select stockists worldwide. The roller-ball applicator fragrances will be 10mL and housed in elegant violet glass to maintain product quality and integrity.
