I visited LA last week and a lot has changed in eight years since I lived there, especially the food! So for all those thinking of heading to LA or know a friend who is, here are my top five places to eat! Next up will be top lifestyle stores that are a must see.
Alfred Coffee & Kitchen
Coming from Sydney, we are quite spoilt for choice with good coffee. The US is finally catching up and this is the place to grab one along with a bagel. The Melrose Place location is great to sit and catch up on those emails or people watching. And if you have a sweet tooth, Compartes chocolate is located just inside.
8428 Melrose Place
Los Angeles, CA 90069
Commissary, The Line Hotel
Set in a rooftop greenhouse, surrounded by gardens and the hotel pool, this Pan-Asian delight is a new go to in the heart of Koretown. Our favourite was the Brioche Eggs Benedict.
3515 Wilshire Blvd
Los Angeles CA 90010
This lunch spot is a great meeting place prior to going to the LACMA. Modern French plates are served in a relaxed space with communal tables. Lots of great salads and sandwiches to choose from and if you are still hungry, be tempted by their sweet bakery delights.
624 South La Brea Avenue,
Los Angeles, CA 90036
A venice staple and worth the wait, this is the perfect place for brunch that focuses on farm-to-table plates.
1429 Abbot Kinney Blvd,
Venice, CA 90291
Another farm-to-table concept but in the heart of Silverlake, this place will have you going back for more. The menu changes daily by what is in season and the recipes are amazing. Mix salads with protein options for the ultimate lunch combination.
3823 W Sunset Blvd
Los Angeles, CA 90026
